I've been contemplating getting this game on PC (as i just got rid of my 360) but it seems that the few people I know that have it all have it on 360.

Worried it won't be as fun solo as I've heard mixed things so far,
In my opinion, Borderlands is far more fun in multiplayer mode. Don't get me wrong. I still find it fun solo, but multiplayer is filled with more frantic goodness as the difficulty cranks up with more players.

Also, just a warning if you do pick it up for PC. Borderlands has some issues with online multiplayer mode. A lot of people are unable to connect and have to resort to either mucking with port forwarding to get it to work or using a third party program. (I use GameRanger.)
I have fun both ways, but have rofl party when playing with friends. Have heard it is tough to connect to other online through PC. That only means it is time to get that 360 for xmas lol
I mean it is time for you to get 360...don't know if that came out right sounded like I need 360 after reading, but hopefully you got what I was trying to say
Damn, I just got rid of my 360 (it was a dodgy one from China, as I spent a year living out there amassing quite the "illegitimate collection", and it didn't feel right having it here).

Built this new system so that I could enjoy all the upcoming games over the next year or so for PC, but hasn't worked out too well so far :D

Hopefully Modern Warfare 2 (despite the dedicated server issues) will deliver on co-op shooting kicks for now as I'll have at least one person to play that with.
@Arislyn - Thanks for the heads up on multiplayer issues.
Nice to upgrade PC you looking forward to SW The Old Republic
Jebus, I had totally forgotten about that game.

To be honest I'm actually on the fence for that one. Whilst I trust Bioware and love the Star Wars universe I also don't want to put it down as an instabuy based purely on hype.

From what I've heard it's got LOTS of potential, but I'll what until some extensive gameplay is shown and some hands-on info starts coming out.

How about you? Or are you not that into PC gaming with a PS3 sitting there? :)
@Clidante +1. I'm watching it closely myself. The wife and i both went through wow burnout a while back and are reluctant to get involved in another mmo, fearing the same eventual burnout. But, SWOR might make us take another look. I'm starting to wonder if the wow formula for mmos is flawed... The whole quest, grind, level, quest, grind, level, raid, raid, raid, quest, grind, level wears on you. But, i wonder if there even IS a better system for that. I mean, it is a game afterall.
@Paganjedi I've found myself steering clear of MMOs in general lately. Mostly because of WOW-esque burnout, unsavoury communities and ill disguised grind.

I'm hoping for a change to come around and SWTOR may just be the game to do that, but only time will tell I guess. As you said, it may just be enough to get me invested in MMOs again.

I think something with the scale, grandeur and playability of single player RPGs (Mass Effect for instance) with the social aspects of MMO games are the future on online gaming, and if SWTOR goes down that road it could be a winner.
@Clidante A lot of people are starting to jump from MMO to MMO. Instead of investing a huge amount of time (ie. Months) into a particular MMO, they just play for 1-2 months and then cancel.
@Avs I have to say that I'm quite the MMO tourist myself and a little ashamed of it. The two things that usually engage me the most when it comes to MMOs are the social and content aspects. WOW became a comfortable place to rest for a while as I had ALOT of friends playing it and the content at the time was fair enough.

But everything in the MMO world I've played since then always seem to lacking in one aspect or both for me, which is a shame.

Perhaps MMOs just come under more scrutiny than other genres nowadays, especially when people are having to part with a monthly subscription fee just to stay in the game.

I'm happy to buy the next in the series of Tekken/Street Fighter/Soul Calibur without much question, as you pretty much know what you're getting out of it on a longterm basis from the get-go, especially if you're familiar with the previous title.

MMO's on the other hand rely on way too many unstable variables to know from the offset if it'll be worth the investment in the long run. And once your friends give up on the game, or the content starts drying up, what else can you do?

Sorry for the wall of text. I seriously have nothing better to do with my time at the moment:p
@Clidante Mm, what you said is pretty normal in MMOs.

We expect XYZ content and community to be there right out of the box. If the game doesn't deliver, we hear all the whining and bitching on the forums, then in game, then the rumors of mass unsubscribing, and then the silence. Then people start saying the community is great, and the game is thriving, and the flame wars come back from the dead.

But there is truth to why people say and do these things. Content not worth your time or has dried up? This is one of the basic ingredients of a good game. Content = value, and value = how much utility the game gets you over time against the $ you pay for it.

The other half of that on MMOs are friends just like you said. I know so many people who played WOW only because they made friends or were close to guildies. They played only because they had fun playing with those people. They already could care less about the rest of the game and that was it.

Oh and, until the next "wow killer" (most likely going to be blizzard's ARC MMORPG), you'll probably be jumping around some more.
@Avs Well put but I won't be jumping around at all for a while.

I'm going to settle for decent single player and co-op capable games and leave it at that for now. There are a lot of good non-MMO games out there that I need to catch up on or that I'm eagerly awaiting.

So that should keep me occupied until the next best thing in MMO world gets churned out.
@Clidante That's exactly the evolution that send me to the 360 as my primary gaming platform, which is where I am now. You get the decent graphics, you get variety without monthly fees*, and you get to play with your friends.

*there is a monthly fee for xbox live, but the fee is to play any game online, not a fee for each game.

At the moment this appears to be the sweet spot. No more stale content. There is a regular stream of xbox games coming out. I can swap games every 5 minutes if I want and chances are I'll have a friend or two online playing that game and even if I don't I can pull a couple folks into a chat party and we can all chat online while we're each doing out individual games.

It seems to be the best of both worlds right now. True, there is no epic raiding or anything on that scale for the 360, but in all honesty i didn't like the pressure of raiding in wow anyway.
@paganjedi It's a shame I no longer have a 360 and I really can't justify buying a third one for any reason, so I'll be making the most of my PC gaming now.

Social game network programs are handy though and I hang out alot more of Steam these days (although I really need to expand my friends list) and it is nice to see a friend online playing something and to just hop in with them and catch up whilst having fun.

So at the moment I'm trying to expand my PC gaming horizons and possible people to play with. Hopefully I'll pick up some likeminded gamers to play alongside now i'm on GamerDNA. Could be an interesting next year or so for me and gaming again :)
So uhhh when are we gonna hit it hard and Lvl 50 it
